As a Catholic veteran and Blue Dog Democrat, I believe being 'pro-life' means protecting the vulnerable at every stage; from the unborn to the elderly. My approach is rooted in compassion and common sense: protecting the life of the mother, fully funding rape kits to ensure justice, and guaranteeing every Texas newborn has access to a NICU. We must also save our rural communities by stopping hospital closures through Medicaid expansion and shifting healthcare costs for teachers and first responders to the state to lower property taxes. Ultimately, my goal is to rebuild a robust non-profit insurance sector to take on the for-profit giants. By creating a true buyer’s market, we can force real competition that drives down premiums and increases the quality of care for every family.
